    My first (somewhat) mob!
    I hope you like it!
Also this is my first attempt at using soartex.net for image hosting not imgur so tell me if there are any errors :)

Could I have some screenshots from a bunch of different angles?

My biggest peeve is that some sides are different than others and it still looks like an animated piece of white stone.

    I'll try
Well, it't the sprite. What do you expect? :p

Now Sheynx, that isn't nice (the last sentence I mean)...

94, I'm pretty sure it doesnt get animated.

Well, the idea is good. Needs tons of work though. ;)

    It does NOT get animated
I'll try to get screenshots soon

Whenever it fires a fireball it switches skins to ghast_angry.png or something similar. It does get "animated" I guess.

I didn't mean animation sprite, was referencing from skype.

Grrrrrr, ghast is really hard. I still have no idea what to do with the designs on its back and sides so pretty much everything. Arg! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Anyway here's the file and screen shots. Let me know what you think... I need help, I'll probably look around at fan art for some ideas....

^ It is a better start than the previous ones though.

I like it. And it seems dark, but maybe that's just the lighting. I might try it out.

Maybe scrap white/grey and go for red/orange instead? The ghast is a hard mob.

Just scrap the whole thing and go wild pretty much. Have fun with every texture guys. ;)

I wouldn't scrap it. Definitely a great start, and getting that texture underneath and features outlined is a big step.

Maybe delete the bottom of the ghast box altogether and have ruffled edges on the sides? I'm just throwing ideas out there. The gills on the side aren't right, but I don't know how to make better ones.

It was an expression but starting anew is not excluded ;P

I'm going to take Seagull's beginning texture and fool around with it.

(Oh, seagull, I hope it's okay)

Do what ever you want. I'm really stuck, so please by all means come up with your own version. More ideas the better! Its a group effort!:)

This is the .png I have for the ghast so far. I'm a little stuck, but this is for the "gills", "mouth", and "eyebrows".

Hmm tried smudging the gills down. Just an idea.

I like the smudges. You might want to try to make the grey part of the legs transparent and I think the eye brows would look better if they were a bit bigger.

Still kinda similar to the original one though.
I will think about what could be changed and I'll edit this post when I have an answer :D *wait for me*

I'll be totally honest, I made the stripes orange on the new one and came across one in survival. I jumped a litte - it was creepy looking (see above picture of mine, it was basically like that)

That is an awesome ghast i think it should be in soartex

Ok I came up with the answer.

To me this texture is almost the same as the default with some drastic colors painted in it and nothing else. This doesn't make it special, doesn't make it Soartex Fanver.

I'ts a good start, however not the final texture for sure.

The lines are too drastic and the only shading I see is because of the way the ghast is facing the sun.

The orange stripes, eyebrows and mouth, I have to be honest, I don't like it because they are simply plain color, they have no depth or texture and they actualy dont fit the ghast mob in my opinion BUT, ideas are always welcome!

Try to add more depth and texture to the ghast itself first so you can see how it looks, then if you would like to continue with the orange parts in it go for it, but don't make it plain color because it gives it a bit of cartoon(ish) look, something that has nothing to do with the pack.

Keep up the good work ;)
