Forestry

    It's not a dumb question! Textures that get made here are added to the various .zips at http://soartex.net/modded/ as we work. Then about once every week or two all those .zips in /modded/ with all those new textures are compiled together to make the Soartex Modded.zip.

    If you are just wanting to play with mod textures, all you need to do is download the modded version of the pack and use it like you would a normal texture pack. Anything that gets made or changed here will find its way to Soartex Modded.zip within the next week or so.

    Adjusted plank and stained glass color; added the thing the harvesters harvest to it's window; remade apiary, alveary, spawner, heater, cooler, bog earth, bituminous peat and peat; adjusted habitat finder, lit and unlit candle (the combs were already fixed on the texture I had); removed stray pixels.

    The stain glass colors now match the wool a bit better, and the plank colors match the default textures better.

    The apiary and alveary use the cherrywood planks (the orange planks on the far right) as a base. The apiary uses the standard plank slab as the top texture, and the alveary can use any plank slab as long as they're all the same kind.

    Why can't you newcomers know everything that's not been written down somewhere?

    I try not to be a jerk, but those people who don't patch for HD textures get on my nerves.

    @Tzigane: I love that bog earth, the old stuff had me cringing. The old bog earth texture was also used in the peat bog generator, by the way.

    On the harvester tops matching what they harvest, I made a few changes to match what I had in my mind's eye. If you were looking though the window on the top, you would see mashed together crops, not the item!

    Yeah, that looks a lot better. Hmmm, I really don't like the bee openings (bee holes? ewww). Any tips on making one that doesn't look all bleh?

    Fake Edit: Oh mannn those machine textures are awesome. :3 Is there any way to make the melon/pumpkin look like two separate things, instead of a frakenfruit though?

    I might be out of place to post all this in this thread but seeing as forestry has what seems like a million blocks and items i figured id get a list of all the stuff that is 100% untouched. There are some not listed that have parts missing but that's another post for another day :p

    Are those steam engines supposed to be for Railcraft? I don't remember seeing them in forestry. ;)
    Edit: Finally made it to Railcraft they were already there. I miss out not being around for a month :cool:

    I updated the mods directory for Forestry a few hours ago. I added the missing apiary file, removed the mailbox, removed the unused tankwater files and updated the items.png. Fluids doesn't need to be touched. Thanks for the help Justin!

    So before I go to sleep, I want to try and get some input on these crates I just made. Obviously some work will have to go into making each item not look so pasted in and I already have most of that just want to get feedback on it before I start getting deeper in to them tomorrow.

    Just leave them untouched for now. Maybe out the normal crate texture behind it. Or make the items for it. :p
